Gigantic Foundation Laid Upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy Attraction


This week, adjacent to the closed Universe of Energy pavilion, 960 trucks worth of concrete was poured into the foundation area for the upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy attraction.

Disney is saying that the new Guardians of the Galaxy ride building will house one of the longest indoor coasters in the world. The the story line for the attraction is “being developed by Walt Disney Imagineering in close collaboration with the original filmmakers.”

We were able to get some good shots of the work on the pre-concrete foundation area when we did the runDisney Dark Side Half Marathon. It really is a large area.

The new attractions does not yet have a release date, but Disney is indicating they want to have it open by the 50th Anniversary in 2021.
