The magic at Disneyland has returned and we are finally getting some sense of normalcy back. Face masks are no longer required, capacity has increased, all of the hotels have reopened, and more and more dining locations are reopening. Now that things are quickly getting back to normal, Disneyland fans and locals are desperately wanting to know what the holiday plans are for the Park and there still has been no official announcement for the normal annual holiday events.
Well, something exciting is happening Insiders! Last year Disneyland was closed for the holidays due to the pandemic so we did not get to experience the decorations and holiday-themed attractions. This year we believe we will get to celebrate and experience the holidays at Disneyland like normal and we are getting so excited!
The Haunted Mansion Holiday Nightmare Before Christmas-theme is returning soon! This re-theme of the Haunted Mansion every Halloween and Christmas season makes me so excited because the decorations are frightfully delightful! Before the pandemic hit, Jack Skellington and his friends from Halloween Town would annually take over the Haunted Mansion and it was an absolute delight.

The official description of this holiday attraction on the Disneyland website reads:
Pumpkin King Jack Skellington has been busy decorating the Haunted Mansion with frightfully festive touches inspired by Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Experience some of your favorite sights, special seasonal surprises—and scare-aracters from the movie. Sally, Oogie Boogie and other Nightmare nasties will be on hand to wish you “Season’s Screamings!”
So why do we think this spook-tacular holiday theme is making a return to the Haunted Mansion this year? Pre-COVID, this attraction would close every year in August for refurbishment, which meant they were shutting down the Mansion to “deck the halls.” In looking at the refurbishment calendar for this year, the Haunted Mansion (plus Haunted Mansion Holiday) is scheduled to be closed for refurbishment this August 16:
September 2 is the last day the Haunted Mansion is listed as an attraction that is closed for refurbishment, and then September 3 is when it disappears from the list leading us to believe that is the date the Haunted Mansion Holiday “Nightmare Before Christmas” will be officially open!
If you have yet to experience this holiday theme of the Haunted Mansion it’s definitely an experience you don’t want to miss! The holidays at Disneyland are beyond magical, and attractions such as this one that go the extra mile to help celebrate the holidays makes it an even more special experience for Guests.
