Very exciting holiday news was announced by the Disney Parks Blog this morning!
While I love Halloween at Disneyland, Christmas is absolutely magical. Disneyland turns into an enchanted wonderland full of magic, cheerful entertainment, yuletide treats, specialty merchandise, sparkling décor and seasonal transformations of select attractions! It’s my absolute favorite time of year to go to Disneyland and this year is extra special as we did not get to enjoy the holiday magic at the Parks last year due to the pandemic.
Over a Disneyland park, nostalgic holiday magic shines brightly with the glistening Sleeping Beauty’s Winter Castle and a 60-foot Christmas tree on Main Street, U.S.A. The castle itself is such a magical sight and you will not want to miss out on photo opportunities with both the castle and the tree.
Guess what else will be back?! “A Christmas Fantasy” parade where beloved Disney characters join Santa Claus for a merry musical celebration will be making its way down Main Street, U.S.A. Keep an eye out as you may also see Santa making other stops within the parks throughout your visit. “Believe … in Holiday Magic” fireworks spectacular is probably one of the most magical shows you will ever see as magical snow will fall over portions of Main Street, U.S.A.
And it just keep getting better! Seasonal transformations will happen once again at “It’s a Small World” Holiday and the 20th installation of Haunted Mansion Holiday. It’s seriously the merriest time of year and you will not want to miss out!
Over at Disney’s California Adventure, “you can create new memories during Festival of Holidays and discover the sights, sounds and tastes of a diverse season of celebrations during this festive time of year, including Christmas/Navidad, Diwali, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa, and Three Kings Day. Friends and families are invited to celebrate with ‘Disney ¡Viva Navidad!’ as Disney characters host a fun street party featuring Mexican folklórico dancers and Mariachis, Brazilian samba dancers and percussionists, giant mojiganga puppets and Mickey Mouse and Minnie Mouse in their fiesta best! At Paradise Gardens, you’ll enjoy festively themed food and beverages, live music and dance, and later in the holiday season, Mirabel from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ upcoming film ‘Encanto’ will make her park debut.” Stay tuned for more information on Mirabel’s arrival!
Carsland will also be turning into a magical wonderland of its own! The four-wheeled residents will be pulling out all the stops with their holiday décor. Even if you’re not a huge Carsland fan, you will want to stop in and take in all the sights. From the snow-covered billboard at the entrance all the way to the hubcap-studded tree at the courthouse, you will see automotive ornamentation at its finest along Route 66. Luigi’s Joy to the Whirl and Mater’s Jingle Jamboree will also undergo a little transformation just for the holiday season!
Want to see some holiday cheer outside of the Parks? Downtown Disney District and the Hotels of the Disneyland Resort have you covered. Over at the lobby inside Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, you’ll want to discover all the fun, new details on the giant gingerbread house this year. Traditional holiday décor and carolers will also bring the holiday spirit to Downtown Disney. Whether you are in the Parks, Downtown Disney, or at the hotels, you will be surrounded by all the wonderful Disney holiday magic!
