Walt Disney World and other Orlando, Florida, theme parks have closed their water parks due to the frigid central Florida temperatures.
A Disney Spokesperson confirmed that Disney’s Blizzard Beach Water Park is closed through Wednesday and reminded guests that Typhoon Lagoon Water Park was already closed due to a scheduled refurbishment.
According to their twitter account, Universal Orlando’s Volcano Bay, was closed Monday through the early part of the week. It’s expected to open tomorrow, Thursday Jan 23rd, but we are continuing to monitor the resort’s social media. Temperatures are going to remain the same for the next few days and we would be surprised to see the water park open.
Sea World’s Aquatica has been closed since Monday and remains closed. It was scheduled to open today, but that hasn’t happened. Sea World is also taking extra precautions in this cold weather and covering up their plants and other parts of their landscape.
Did you have plans to visit any of the water parks during this time?
