There are quite a few apps out there that are intended to make our lives easier and sometimes even to keep us organized. The Disney Cruise Line Navigoat rapp does literally just that, and let me tell you, it’s one of the most useful apps to use if you’re going on a Disney cruise! I have gone on two Disney cruises on two separate ships (the Dream and the Wish), and I cannot rave enough about the app. This easy-to-follow video tutorial provides helpful tips for both Android and iOS users.
You will have your first chance to use the app for pre-boarding. Before your cruise, you can check in and go through the pre-boarding process. It will ask you to input your check-in information and passport info, you can choose between two dining times, and you can even start booking port excursions/premium activities and reserve any extra-cost dining. The app also allows you to make payments.
Once on board, the app becomes your navigation. You can find all the events, activities, characters, dining menus, showtimes, etc. For activity reminders, you can tap the little heart for anything you want to schedule for the day so that if you get caught up in swimming at one of the refreshing pools or shopping, the app will send you a notification before the event/activity you added as a reminder.
Here are some of the things you will be able to access on the app while onboard:
- View a daily onboard calendar of events and things to do.
- Get rotational dining details—including location information, dining times, and your table number.
- Access all restaurant menus on board the ship, including menus for breakfast, lunch, and dinner, when dining at Palo, Remy, inside our lounges and bars, and for in-stateroom dining.
- Find schedules for the entertainment that interests you—from fireworks at sea, movies, and live shows to music at nightclubs and lounges.
- Learn where Disney Characters are throughout the ship.
- Review recent onboard purchases and download a statement of your cruise balance.
One convenient feature of the app is the chat tool. You won’t have service when you’re at sea; even at the ports, it’s sometimes hard to find service. It’s essential that you’re able to communicate with your friends and family while onboard, as everyone usually does separate from each other through the trip. The Navigator app lets you communicate with family and friends with the handy chat feature. To use, you open the chat bubble in the top right-hand corner. Your personal chat ID is listed at the top of the screen. You can share this ID with whoever you would like to message. Just have your friends and family put your chat ID in, your name will populate, and presto…you can generate a chat and message with each other during the entirety of the cruise.
The Navigator app has so many valuable tools and features, and it’s just another part of what makes sailing with Disney Cruise Line easy and fun. The app helps to make your vacation stress free, organized, and it makes it so that you won’t miss a thing!
