All systems go! We are practically in April, which means we’re closer to Disneyland After Dark: Star Wars Nite (May 3, 4, and 27) at Disneyland! As we grow closer to this exciting event that takes place on three separate nights in May, guests have something extra special to look forward to; Space Mountain will be shutting down for one day (April 28) and reopening on April 29 for a limited time as Hyperspace Mountain!
If you’re not familiar with Hyperspace Mountain, it’s when Space Mountain features special effects from the world of Star Wars. You will hurtle through hyperspace while dodging furious dogfights during a high-speed Star Wars adventure. The last time Hyperspace Mountain showed up at Disneyland was back in May of 2019 when the popular Star Wars overlay stuck around for eight months during the park’s Galaxy’s Edge-themed land debut. Here’s the official description from Disney:
Fend off crossfire from swarms of Rebel X-wing starfighters and Imperial TIE fighters amidst an intergalactic onslaught!
Your mission begins with a briefing from Admiral Ackbar—the Rebel Alliance needs help flying reconnaissance vessels to survey an Imperial Star Destroyer. After being escorted into hyperspace by an elite X-wing squadron, you arrive only to find the Star Destroyer waiting with a swarm of TIE fighters—it’s a trap!
As Rebel forces valiantly battle Imperial vessels, you’re caught up in a barrage of blaster fire. Maneuvers become more intense as you join the Rebel squadron for one final, courageous assault on the menacing Star Destroyer. It’s an epic Star Wars combat scene taken straight from the films—but hurry, Hyperspace Mountain is only open for a limited time!
This sounds like an epic adventure, and it’s the perfect time to bring this attraction back. Disney did not announce an end date for this attraction, but we anticipate it will only be available through the month of May (hopefully longer!).
