So many cool things were announced at the Destination D23 event this past weekend I’m sure all our heads are spinning with all the news announcements. We’re going to be bringing you each piece of news piece by piece so you don’t get overwhelmed in one spot by what’s coming to theme parks, hotels, shows, etc. One piece of news that was announced this past weekend was regarding the Disneyland Hotel.
There will be a newly-designed pool and recreation area, along with a variety of room types and the ability to explore the magic steps away at the Disneyland Resort. #DestinationD23

The thing about Disney is they are never done evolving and creating, and not just in the parks. As stated in the above Twitter post by Disney Parks Blog, Imagineers are hard at work infusing the new resort property with elements that bring Disney storytelling to life, all inspired by characters and stories from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ classic films. There will even be a newly-designed pool and recreation area, along with a variety of room types. I am so excited to see what new magic is in store for Guests that will bring Disney storytelling to life!
And it’s not just the Disneyland Hotel that is getting some updating. Just steps away, work will begin on the next evolution of the Downtown Disney District starting in 2022. New additions will include more shopping, dining and entertainment including a new and large grassy area where kids and adults can relax and play!
As part of the work being done, a few existing stores will close starting in January of 2022 including Starbucks, Earl of Sandwich, and Sugarboo & Co. If you love any of these shops be sure to give them one last visit before the New Year. We are so excited for even more magic and all the changes coming to both the Disneyland Hotel and Downtown Disney!
