The Quinjet has landed! I repeat, the Quinjet has landed! We all have been waiting with burning anticipation for news of progress being made at the Avengers Campus at Disney’s California Adventure in Anaheim. The Avengers Campus was originally supposed to open on July 18th of this year, and Marvel fans were disappointed when the opening date got pushed back due to COVID-19.

Today Josh D’Amaro, Walt Disney Company Chairman of Disney Parks, gave his social media followers a first look at the progress that is being made on Avengers Campus, which was first announced at the D23 Expo last year.

In these photos D’Amaro shared just a small glimpse of what is to come in the immersive Marvel-themed land that will feature the first ever Disney theme park Spider-Man attraction, WEB SLINGERS: A Spider-Man Adventure.

Disney has not given a new opening date for Avengers Campus, but they did recently comment that construction is moving forward:

“While several projects, like Avengers Campus—at both Disney California Adventure and Disneyland Paris—are able to surge forward based on where we were in development, there are others that will be picked back up in stages—like Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway and TRON—and some that are longer-term that we will need more time to assess. We are working with our operations partners now to determine timing for this project to get under way. For now, we know that both Magic Kingdom and Disneyland parks will re-open with the existing Splash Mountain attraction.”

The new Avengers Campus will include heroic encounters with the likes of Doctor Strange and epic experiences that will include size-defying fare from Ant-Man.

Both Disneyland and California Adventure still remain closed and a reopening date has not been announced, but we can hardly wait to explore this new land at California Adventure!
