It’s almost time to head back into the fog! Knott’s Scary Farm runs every Halloween season at Knott’s Berry Farm in Buena Park, California. The fully transformed theme park features uniquely haunted mazes and attractions, sinister shows, and more than 1,000 horrifying creatures lurking in the fog and hiding in every corner of the park. It’s not AS scary as Universal Horror Nights and is more on the kid-friendly side (however it is not recommended for children under 13). This event seems to grow more and more popular every year as both kids and adults flock to the park after dusk and head into the fog to get their yearly dose of fear. The mazes and scare zones are always pretty well done and the monsters love sliding around on their shin guards causing sparks to fly and surrounding individuals always run screaming.
If you are interested in becoming a Scare Monster and think you’d do a good job, Knott’s Scary Farm is already starting to hire for this year’s event! Auditions will be held on June 25 and 26 and you are welcome to submit an application in advance (follow the link in their Twitter post below). If you’re interested in becoming a performer, you must be at least 18 years of age and be able to “stay in character” for extended periods of time. If performing isn’t your thing, there are other positions for line control and guest control within each attraction.

Knott’s Scary Farm event dates are as follows:
- September: 22, 23, 24, 25, 29, 30
- October: 1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 9, 13, 14, 15, 16, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31
Haunted house and scare zone themes have not yet been announced, and tickets are not on sale yet. We will report back once Knott’s Scary Farm announces more details!
