If you grew up dreaming about secret royal inheritances, iconic makeover montages, and Julie Andrews delivering legendary one-liners, D23’s newest event is basically your Roman Empire. To celebrate the 25th anniversary of The Princess Diaries, D23 is hosting a special Genovian pop-up experience that transports fans straight into the world of Mia Thermopolis, awkward curls, princess lessons, and all.
The event takes place on Saturday, June 13, at the historic Doheny Mansion in Los Angeles, the very location used as the Genovian Consulate in the film. For one magical day, the mansion will transform into an immersive walkthrough experience inspired by some of the movie’s most iconic scenes. Tickets cost $65 for gold members and $75 for general members. Attendees must be 12 or older in accordance with the mansion’s tour policy.
Guests will explore recreated spaces inspired by:
* Mia’s first meeting with Queen Clarisse
* The unforgettable royal dinner scenes
* Princess etiquette lessons
* The ballroom where Mia embraces her destiny as Princess of Genovia
For longtime fans, it’s basically stepping directly into the movie.
D23 is also bringing in treasures from the Walt Disney Archives, including costumes, props, jewelry, and memorabilia from both The Princess Diaries and The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement. Fns will get an up-close look at the royal fashion that convinced an entire generation that tiaras were a personality trait. The entire experience feels designed for millennials who watched Mia Thermopolis stumble her way into royalty and thought, “Honestly, that could happen to me.”
Every guest will receive themed take-home items inspired by Mia’s diary, including:
* A journal kit
* Sticker sheets
* Die-cut stickers
* A commemorative credential
The event also uses timed entry windows, giving guests an hour to explore the mansion, take photos, and fully embrace their inner Genovian royal.
