When I went to Walt Disney World in 2019 for my very first time I was completely and utterly blown away by the MagicBand. I remember asking myself several times why Magic Bands weren’t a thing over Disneyland yet as they are just so convenient for just about everything! Well, Disney officially announced this morning that the next generation MagicBand+ and “Hey, Disney” voice assistant will coming to Disneyland Resort in 2022!

I for one am to infinity and beyond ecstatic for this news and can hardly wait for these two things to arrive over here at the Anaheim theme parks! The MagicBand+ will work in wondrous ways over Walt Disney World in Florida. It will allow Guests to interact with the Disney Fab 50, the golden statues that are now on display in each of the four theme parks as part of the 50th anniversary celebration. It will also light up during firework shows like Disney Enchantment and you can even use it inside Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge.
Over at Disneyland, Guests will be able to use MagicBand+ for select interactive experiences, PLUS Amazon and Disney are also partnering for a “Hey, Disney!” collaboration a feature that will also be able to be used over at Walt Disney World! No hard date in 2022 has been announced as to when both of these ideas will be officially introduced at the Anaheim theme park, but I can hardly wait for more information on these two new concepts coming to Disneyland Resort!
