“Ladies and gentlemen, boys and girls, Disneyland proudly presents our spectacular festival pageant of nighttime magic and
imagination in thousands of sparkling lights and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sounds. The Main Street Electrical Parade!”
We previously reported that the Main Street Electrical Parade would be returning to Disneyland, and now it seems even more real as Disneyland has added dates and showtimes to their calendar! Starting April 22, showtimes will be scheduled for 8:45 pm and 10:30 pm, so guests will have two opportunities to catch this nighttime spectacular!
This nighttime spectacular invites guests to watch over a half-million lights sparkle as this colorful pageant comes home for its 50th anniversary of nighttime magic and imagination. Just as a reminder, the show will feature an all-new, enchanted grand finale that celebrates the universal theme of togetherness.
The Disney Parks Blog explains:
Inspired by both the original design of classic “Main Street Electrical Parade” floats and Disney Legend Mary Blair’s iconic art style on “it’s a small world,” the new grand finale brings to life more than a dozen Disney Animation and Pixar stories. These stories will be interpreted in thousands of sparkling lights and electro-synthe-magnetic musical sound, with unique representations of beloved characters as animated dolls.
As the new grand finale passes by, guests along each side of the parade route will see a different set of stylized scenes from classic and contemporary favorite stories such as “Encanto,” “The Jungle Book,” “Raya and the Last Dragon,” “Aladdin,” “Coco,” “Mulan,” “Brave,” “The Princess and the Frog” and more. Check out one of the early pieces of concept art featuring Mirabel and Antonio from Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Academy Award-nominated film, “Encanto.”
The beloved Main Street Electrical Parade will only be available for a limited time at Disneyland Park, so you won’t want to miss out on seeing it! Other nighttime spectaculars will also be returning to Disneyland and Disney California Adventure, which you can read more about here.
