Heading to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party (MVMCP) this year? It’s a special ticketed event that runs on select nights Nov. 8 – Dec. 22, 2019 at Magic Kingdom and lasts from 7pm until midnight (but you can enter with your party ticket as early as 4pm). You may be familiar with Mickey’s Not So Scary Halloween Party held August-October. At this party, vegan and food allergy guests are catered to via a system put in place at the party’s many trick-or-treat stations spread out throughout the park. At treat locations you can collect tokens in lieu of the candy offered and then trade them in for a selection of allergy-friendly snacks, candy and even non-food related items. While MVMCP party does not compare to this accommodation, it is still very much worth attending. Check out our tips below for how to enjoy the party with food allergies and as a vegan guest!

- Unlimited Complimentary Treat Stops
Your party map guide will show all the complimentary treat stop locations. You can also identify these locations by the large, lit-up inflatable peppermint sticks! These treat locations offer traditional holiday delights such as packaged cookies, apple cider and hot chocolate. You can collect the cookies from all over the part and snack as you go, or pack away as souvenirs to enjoy later. At this year’s MVMCP, you will find Enjoy Life Brand cookies as an allergy-friendly and vegan swap at any treat location offering cookies. While this may not seem as festive as a fresh-baked snickerdoodle or gingerbread cookie, it is still a fun way to collect allergy-safe goodies! They are handed out in single serving packets which clearly state ingredients and nutrition facts on the label so there is little room for allergen contamination. Enjoy Life products are found all over Walt Disney World Resorts and Parks and are a familiar allergy-friendly offering. They are free of the top 8 allergens.
Depending on your specific food allergy, you may be able to enjoy the beverages at treat stops, like apple cider which tends to fit most food allergy-safe requirements. As with all other WDW Park dining scenarios, you can walk up to any dining cast member or counter and ask to see the ingredient binder to confirm which items are safe for you. For example, you’ll see the ingredients listed for the plant-based snowman pretzel at Tortuga Tavern in Adventureland may be safe for those with dairy, soy, egg and fish allergies, as well as for vegan guests, but is NOT gluten/wheat-free. The MVMCP map guide also encourages guests to ask about allergy-friendly and healthy alternatives at treat stops – so you may even be surprised with more options- always ask!
Here’s a list of treats and drinks offered and where to find them. Ask about ingredients to determine if they are allergy-friendly for you.

- Special Holiday and Party-Exclusive Treats
Check out the menu for items exclusive to the holiday season at Magic Kingdom, some of which are only available during the party. Disney announced in their recent Foodie Guide Olaf’s that the Frozen Hot Chocolate Cake, available daily at Main Street Bakery, is made from gluten-friendly chocolate cake layered with chocolate crispy pearls, chocolate panna cotta, and marshmallow fluff. It looks divine! Check with a dining cast member if the crispy pearls are gluten-friendly. The To Be Jolly Float, which is a party exclusive item and available at the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor, contains peppermint iced coffee topped with vanilla ice cream, crushed peppermint, and a chocolate Minnie Mouse bow. Fortunately, the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor offers Rice Dream and Tofutti ice cream as non-dairy substitutes to make this option friendly to vegans as well as those who are dairy-free (when served without whipped cream). There are also No Added Sugar ice cream flavors available as well.

- Standard Menus
In order to enjoy as much of the party as possible, it would be best to eat your big meal BEFORE the party starts, especially if vising with food allergies. This way you won’t have to waste time eating and can instead enjoy a few quick bites and snacks to keep your energy levels up throughout the night. Additionally, you’ll find vegan and gluten-free Gingerbread items a short monorail ride away at the Contemporary and Grand Floridian! However, if you plan to enter the park earlier in the day, you will need to find a place to eat! Be aware that only select dining locations remain open during the party, so if you’re looking for an allergy-friendly or plant-based meal while you are there, check the list below.
