Today, Disney Chairman and CEO Bob Iger, along with French President Emmanuel Macron, announced a two billion euro expansion project for Disneyland Paris.
This multi-year expansion will included three new areas added to Walt Disney Studios Park, with sections based on Marvel, Frozen, and Star Wars. This will include new attraction and entertainment. The three areas will be connected by a new lake area, this will also be the focal point for entertainment experiences.
The multi-year project will “roll out in phases beginning in 2021.” This will also tie in with the Rock n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith redo announced earlier this month.
Iger said this about the announcement:
““We’re very excited about the future of Disneyland Paris and continue to invest in its long-term success. The resort is already the leading tourist destination in Europe, and the transformative expansion we announced today will add even more of our beloved characters and unparalleled storytelling to create new lands, attractions and entertainment that further elevate the guest experience and drive new opportunities for tourism in this dynamic region.”
This will increase the size of the park considerably and Disney’s hoping to “build on the success” of the 25th Anniversary Celebration.
The concept art looks great! I do love using the lake as the focal point. It reminds me of the World Showcase.
