We’ve previously mentioned the new expansion coming to Disney’s Coronado Springs Resort featuring a 15-story tower. Today, Bob Chapek, Chairman of Disney Parks, Experiences and Consumer Products, announced that the new tower will be called the Gran Destino Tower.

This tower will be opening July 2019 and will become the main entry point for the resort, adding 545 new guest rooms, which include 50 suites. And a new themed table-service restaurant is being planned to sit atop the newly named tower, giving patrons amazing views of the Walt Disney World Resort area.

Inspired by “great Spanish explorers, artists, writers and architects,” the design of the new addition is a fusion of classic Spanish “influences” and Disney whim and impressiveness. The other 1,800 rooms at the resort have also been updated to blend into the look of the new addition.

When completed, Disney’s Coronado Springs is going to be even more stunning, with an amazing focal point and even more amazing views from the Gran Destino Tower.
