While we’re all about change and Walt Disney World reimagining itself, there are still certain areas of the parks and resorts that despite accepting the change, we can’t help but mourn.
Walt Disney World is so much apart of our childhoods, and anyone will tell you that it’s simple things like the neon glow from the signage at Electric Umbrella, that will totally take you back to when you were a kid and your happiest memories.
Above is an aerial view where the exterior seating was recently removed at the former Electric Umbrella quick service restaurant in EPCOT. The photo was taken on September 19, 2020.
Taken just hours ago, the picture above shows the canopy over Electric Umbrella’s outdoor seating and glass has been completely removed.
Along with MouseGear, a reimagined Electric Umbrella will reopen and remain a fixture at EPCOT. The photos above are the concept art for the restaurant. Although we love everything Walt Disney Imagineering does, we will certainly miss that beautiful neon glow from the outdoor canopy and even the interior.
