I’m so excited to update you on the fun I’ve been having with Dole’sNow We’re (All) Cooking” initiative and to tell you how to enter our Prize Pack giveaway! See below for a chance to win all the goodies that will get you showing your Disney style in the kitchen too! Read all the way through for details! I’m an official ambassador for Dole and received compensation in exchange for my honest opinions. As always, all opinions are my own.

In November, I participated in a LIVE Virtual Cooking Class with Dole Health and Nutrition Communications Manager, and fellow Dietitian, Melanie Marcus MA RD, along with Disney Panelists who provided exciting information about Dole’s Collaboration with the company. This long-standing collaboration includes the current “Now We’re (All) Cooking” initiative which aims to get families and aspiring chefs everywhere feeling more confident in the kitchen through use of recipes (and other great downloadable freebies) that celebrate Disney and Pixar’s Ratatouille!

In my house, cooking is a family affair. Everyone loves to personalize recipes to their liking. It is a bonding experience and I love that it teaches my children a life skill while also exposing them to new and healthy foods. Now more than ever, families are looking to eat at home. There’s never been a better time to look for some help and inspiration than right now thanks to Dole! Leading up to the Virtual Cooking class, I got busy trying my hand at some of these recipes. Here’s what I made from the list of 20+ recipes inspired by this family-favorite film, its lovable characters, and the ever-inspiring City of Lights!

During the class, we were led step-by-step in the making of Little Chef Potato-Leek Soup. This recipe was inspired by the soup Remy makes in an early scene of the film. Every time I watch this movie, I get a craving for this soup, so I was SUPER excited to finally make it myself! It tasted just as scrumptious as I imagined it would and took me right to Chef Gusteau’s in my mind. This recipe is both gluten-free and dairy-free as is.

The second recipe we made were the Oui Oui Banana Macarons. I’ve never tried to make this type of cookie before. Admittedly, French cuisine intimidates me, but the Dole recipe creators could not have made this any simpler! I was concerned about the filling not lasting at room temperature, but the batch was eaten by my taste testers before I was even finished making the last one! This recipe is dairy-free as is and can be made gluten-free using Kinnikinnick Gluten Free wafers.

As you scroll through the library of Dole’s recipes celebrating Disney and Pixar’s Ratatouille, you’ll notice many are allergy-friendly, or can easily be adapted as such. Additionally, many fit the “Disney Check” criteria. The purpose of the “Disney Check” icon is to make it easier for kids and families to identify nutritious choices in stores, online, on-air, at live-event venues, and while on vacation at Walt Disney Parks & Resorts. You may notice the symbol on menus throughout Disney Parks, as well as on some of your favorite foods, like Dole banana stickers! Foods and recipes that feature the “Disney Check” meet The Walt Disney Company’s Nutrition Guidelines which have been set forth by nutrition professionals using science and evidenced-based data. They are reviewed regularly and updated as needed based on the most relevant and recent research findings, similar to the Dietary Guidelines for Americans. It is work like this that position The Walt Disney Company and Dole ahead of others – as a Dietitian and mom, I support their efforts to market healthy food to kids, as well as the work done to make nutritious eating easy and fun for busy families!
