Last night Netflix posted a video to announce the release date for the upcoming Stranger Things Season 3 later this year.

The video was a lot of fun for Stranger Things fans. The beginning featured a “commercial” for Dick Clark’s New Year’s Rockin’ Eve 1985, sponsored by the Starcourt Mall.

During the video we see cuts between Dick Clark, the apple “ball” dropping and a computer program being initialized.

After the program “SiverCatFeeds” is launched we see the screen image start to turn upside down. Then it goes to a test pattern screen and when it comes back up we can see upside down fireworks.

Then the screen says “One Summer Can Change Everything…” and Auld Lang Syne begins to play digitally.

The screen changes to “July 4, 1985” and then it moves ahead to “July 4, 2019” and the Stranger Things theme music begins to play.

We now know the premier for Season 3 on Netflix will be July 4. I’m looking forward to seeing what they do with the new season, but I’m also looking forward to seeing if and how Universal Studios ties this into their Halloween Horror Nights, which will begin on September 6 and run until November 2 in 2019.
