“It is with deepest pride
And greatest pleasure that we welcome you tonight
And now we invite you to relax
Let us pull up a chair as the dining room proudly presents
Your dinner!”
“Beauty and the Beast” has been my absolute favorite movie since I was a kid. Naturally, once Be Our Guest restaurant opened in 2012 at Magic Kingdom, it became my Disney dream to dine in the grand ballroom under the crystal chandeliers and angelic artwork where Belle and Beast first danced and fell in love. I have now had the pleasure of dining there twice-once for lunch pre-pandemic and once for dinner recently during my trip to Walt Disney World. Both experiences were enchanting!

In 2019 I managed to snag a reservation for lunch. Lunch pre-pandemic was a quick-service experience and had a different menu than dinner with options such as the Crock Monsieur and other lighter lunch options. Dinner was a more elegant affair with a Prix-Fix three-course menu, and Belle and Beast would come out to dance in the ballroom.
A few changes were made when Be Our Guest reopened in July of 2020 after the pandemic had shut Walt Disney World down. Both lunch and dinner are now sit-down dining experiences with a Prix-Fix menu. Belle and Beast no longer come out and dance together; however, Beast does make an appearance about every half hour and makes a point to make his way around the room for guests to take pictures and videos. It has also been shared today that Be Our Guest will start opening at 10 am, and until noon they will be serving two new brunch entrees-1 for kids and 1 for adults.

Ryan, Jackie, and I had the pleasure of dining at Be Our Guest for dinner during our recent trip to Walt Disney World. I was extremely excited to experience this magical restaurant once more and for dinner this time. We all started with bread and butter, which is always a great way to start the meal; the bread was very warm and not too hard.

For the first course, guests can choose from Captain Nemo Octopus, Country Seasonal Salad, Maine Lobster Bisque, Assorted Meats, Artisanal Cheese Selection, and French Onion Soup. Jackie and I both chose the French Onion Soup, and we both agreed it was absolutely delicious. It was not overly salty, and the toasted croutons gave the soup a great texture. The melted gruyere cheese makes the soup absolute perfection; however, the allergy-friendly version has no cheese, but Jackie said the soup was still incredibly delicious.

Ryan chose the Country Seasonal Salad, which he really enjoyed and highly recommended! The salad features Toasted Walnuts, Fresh Fruit, and Seasonal Vinaigrette Dressing.

For my main course, I had the Center-cut Filet Mignon, which features Robuchon Yukon Potatoes, Seasonal Vegetables, and Cipollini-Garlic Purée with a Red Wine Purée. They cooked mine medium-rare, and the entire dish was tender, flavorful, and delicious. If you like a good filet, this is a great choice! Ryan and Jackie also had the Filet Mignon. Ryan asked for his more medium, and he did say the meat was more on the cold side, and it’s not the greatest he’s had; Jackie’s was, of course, allergy-friendly, and she thoroughly enjoyed her steak as well!

Dessert is a magical affair involving a trio of small samplings; if you are a dessert person, you will love every bite! The dessert plate includes:
- Lemon Jam Macaron
- Chocolate Tart with Grey Stuff, Crisp Pearls, and White Chocolate Wafer
- Dark Chocolate Truffle filled with Dark Chocolate Grand Marnier Ganache
- Vanilla Cake with Lemon Curd with Fresh Berries and Strawberry Meringue (Plant-based option available on request in place of the Dessert Trio Platter)

Overall we had a magical dining experience and loved the food. Some individuals on social media have expressed their opinions that the food at Be Our Guest is just so-so; however, both of my experiences in the two times I have dined here have been amazing. If you end up eating here and the food is just ok, the ambiance alone is worth the experience.
At Be Our Guest, you can dine in one of three rooms that will immerse you in the heartwarming mystery and romance of Beauty and the Beast-The Grand Ballroom, The West Wing, and The Castle Gallery. The Grand Ballroom is one of the top favorites amongst guests for obvious reasons; however, I personally also love the West Wing, where you dine in a darker, more foreboding setting with torn curtains, thunder, and of course, the enchanted rose that sits in the corner of the room where you can watch the enchanted petals slowly fall.
