Harbour Galley at Disneyland has always been one of those off to the side in a kind of hidden corner type of spots. It’s a hidden treasure, and they are mostly known for their delicious clam chowder bread bowls and lobster roll. Right now, however, they have a new seasonal item-the Seafood Boil. They don’t have it listed on their walk-up menu, but you will see it available for mobile orders at this spot. They have a Seafood Boil for one person ($15.99) or two people ($28.99).
I absolutely love seafood and especially love a good seafood boil. It’s basically where they take shrimp, crab legs, mussels, corn on the cob, and andouille sausage and shake it in the bag with either cajun sauce or garlic butter. At Harbour Galley, this seasonal item just includes shrimp, red potatoes, onions and peppers, corn, and andouille sausage with a side hunk of sourdough bread. They hand it off to you in a bag on a plate, and it’s up to you to dump all the saucy contents onto the plate.
So is this new seasonal seafood item worth it? I say yes and no. The price is alright for being what it is. Seafood boils can get pricey…BUT that being said, my Seafood Boil at Harbour Galley only came with four tiny pieces of shrimp. The potatoes were hearty, and the few pieces of sausage were pretty good. The veggies and corn were all cooked perfectly. The big hunk of sourdough bread they include is a fantastic side to throw there, and dipping it in the cajun sauce is heaven. I definitely wouldn’t get this and expect to fill up, but I think it’s a good snack option to tide you over until the next big meal.
As for the new seating area, this had me personally really excited! Harbour Galley is right on the Rivers of America, so it really is a nice place just to sit, eat, and watch the Mark Twain boat make its way around Tom Sawyer’s Island. Before, once you got your bread bowl, there was hardly any seating around to enjoy your food. Now, Disney has finally opened up a new seating area called Pelican’s Landing! With an overwhelming number of people in the parks, many people still are looking for seating, but this new two-story seating space really helps!
Next time you stop by Harbour Galley (right across from Haunted Mansion) to get a clam chowder bread bowl or any of their other delicious items, grab a seat in Pelican’s Landing and enjoy the serene atmosphere of the Rivers of America where you can watch guests canoeing, ducks playing, or the Mark Twain chugging through the waters. In my opinion, this is now one of the best spots to grab quick-service food and enjoy a meal or just to grab a seat and relax for a little while.
