Have you had a chance to visit The Tropical Hideaway over at Disneyland Resort yet? I’ve been a few times since this spot next to Jungle Cruise opened at the end of 2018, however I had not had the full experience in trying any of the specialty Dole Whip desserts or any of their snack items. I went to Disneyland about a week ago and decided it was about time I try a few things, especially since the summer heat was beating down on me and I was about to ride Jungle Cruise for the first time since a few things have been reimagined.
The Tropical Hideaway is literally just that. It is in a little area off to the corner right by Jungle Cruise and when you enter, there is a broad space full of tables, tiki torches, bamboo, etc with great views of the Jungle Cruise river. It’s a tropical oasis that offers a break from the heat of the day and a chance to get off your weary feet as you have spent hours trekking through all the lands at Disneyland. I’ve always had an appreciation for this little area, but after visiting this past week dare I say it is now one of my top favorite spots at Disneyland?!

The Tropical Hideaway has been offering mobile ordering since reopening, but I’m guessing due to there being hardly any crowds the past week due to kids going back to school (and no Passholders still!), they were doing walk-up orders and the line was only about five to ten minutes long. I decided to try the Chile-Mango Dole Whip, the Tropical Hideaway Dessert Bowl, and the Sweet Lumpia. Let me tell you Insiders, I’ve had some good desserts at the Disney Parks but these items totally blew me away!

The Chile-Mango Dole Whip is definitely a tropical party in a cup! It has chamoy, mango, and chili-lime seasoning all accompanied by a nice sized piece of dry mango. If you enjoy all that stuff, you’ll love this delightful little Dole Whip treat.

The Tropical Hideaway Dessert is a little more on traditional side when it comes to Dole Whips. You can choose between two out of three Dole Whip Soft serve flavors (pineapple, raspberry, and lemon). I got the pineapple and raspberry flavors and they came in the most adorable little tiki bowl (they let you choose the design of the bowl and spork!). It was so sweet and so satisfying, plus I got to take the bowl home too!

To top it all off, the Sweet Lumpia is absolutely divine. This sweet little deep fried dessert is filled with banana and jackfruit and drizzled with caramel sauce. All the flavors with the crispy wrapper is just heaven. A small order comes with two but I could seriously have gone back and eaten a dozen of them they were just so magically delicious!

There are so many more items on the menu at Tropical Hideaway and I definitely am looking forward to my next trip back so I can try even more items and let you Insiders know what other good Dole Whips and snack items are worth trying!
