Review of Tony’s Town Square Restaurant at Magic Kingdom

It’s always a Bella Notte over at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant in Magic Kingdom! I recently had my first dining experience with Jackie and Ryan at this Italian restaurant. I have to say it was an absolutely incredible experience from start to finish. The attention to detail from the moment you walk through the doors and into the actual restaurant is just magical. Of course, the restaurant is themed to the classic film, “Lady and the Tramp,” and Tony’s was the restaurant’s name where Lady and Tramp shared their first meal and where they also started to fall in love.

This turn-of-the-century trattoria on Main Street, U.S.A. is entirely charming with its whitewashed railings, French doors, and expansive front porch, which offers fantastic views for people-watching. Upon entering Tony’s, you’ll see portraits of Lady and Tramp hung on the walls. Inside the actual dining room, there are a ton more pictures hanging around, along with a fountain right in the middle of the room with a Tramp and Lady statue surrounded by gorgeous flowers. It’s just a fantastic piece that puts that extra magical touch in the dining room! The servers also have a Lady and Tramp brooch on their shirts, and it just goes to show how Disney thinks of tiny little details in every aspect of an experience.

Sometimes the ambiance may be great at a Disney restaurant, but the food isn’t so great. Here is what all three of us ordered from Tony’s and how we rated it.

All of our meals came with a bread and oil starter. The bread was moist and extremely flavorful with delicious Italian seasoning and seasoning salt. I wish they had served balsamic vinegar with the oil, but it was still delicious. Jackie had the allergy-friendly version, and she loved her bread a lot!

Ryan and I split the Caprese Salad for an appetizer, which consisted of Marinated Vine-ripened and Toy Box Tomatoes, Fresh Mozzarella, and Balsamic Glaze. Jackie had the same, but hers, of course, was the allergy-friendly version. We all absolutely loved it as the ingredients were super fresh and loved the different variety of tomatoes in this. I do think they could have added more balsamic, though!

Ryan had the Chicken Parmesan for an entree, which came with lightly breaded chicken topped with provolone and Tony’s Mariana Sauce over spaghetti. He said it was pretty good, but it’s not the best he’s had at a Disney restaurant. His came with a giant piece of breaded chicken, and it did look pretty delicious!

Jackie also had the Chicken Parmesan, but hers was allergy-friendly. Her dish differed from Ryan’s because her chicken was not breaded, and it was a smaller portion. She wasn’t a huge fan of the grilled chicken and wished it was breaded, and she also said she has had better at other Disney restaurants.

I had the Scampi Pasta, and I have to say I think this is the best pasta I’ve ever had at a Disney restaurant. There were so many different flavors and each one complimented each other so well. The dish features freshly made Linguine, Shrimp, Mussels, Tomatoes, and Onions in an Herb-Butter Sauce. The herb sauce was entirely out of this world. Upon first glance, it didn’t look like there was enough pasta to fill me up, but trust me, there is! I was completely stuffed after my meal, but I still wished there was more just because it was so good!

Overall, we were very pleased with the dining experience at Tony’s Town Square Restaurant. Jackie and Ryan liked their dishes but have had better at other Disney restaurants, and I was blown away by my dish. The atmosphere is so much fun, and Disney did a great job with the entire theme of the restaurant. We highly recommend dining here at least once during your trip to Magic Kingdom, especially if you love Italian food!
