Rogue One Spin-Off Is In The Works For Disney Plus

The Mandalorian, which has already announced a highly anticipated season 2, has been the biggest thing to come from Disney Plus. Recently, it’s been stated that the future of Star Wars looks to be on the successful streaming platform and less on the big screen. We now have confirmation that a spin-off of Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, is also in the works. It will focus on Luna’s character, Cassian Andor, before the events of the original film.

Luna spoke to Entertainment Tonight to confirm the news; “Yes, we are doing it. We are doing it this year. It’s happening, and I’m getting ready for it.” The actor also confirmed he’s seen and read several scripts for the show.

We still don’t know what exactly the show will be about. However, we do know that it’s set before A New Hope. With the filming on the Obi-Wan show being pushed back, I can’t help but wonder if that will in return, push the Rogue One spin-off to the forefront?

Looking to get a Star Wars fix and fill the void of Mandalorian? The Clone Wars’ final season premieres on Disney Plus beginning February 21st.
