Since leaving Orlando last fall, there’s been a lot of chatter and speculation as to what will replace the Main Street Electrical Parade in Walt Disney World. Will it be a new parade? Will there even be a parade? Has Disney spent the nighttime parade budget on Happily Ever After? Who knows?
WDW News Today might know, saying that an unnamed Disneyland insider has tipped them off that Paint the Night is going somewhere… they just don’t know where.
It’s possible that the plan is to finally bring the Paint the Night Parade to Walt Disney World, as many have speculated.
Paint the Night is a spiritual successor to the Main Street Electrical Parade, featuring newer characters and much improved technology. It ran for a short time during Disneyland’s Diamond Celebration, and many Disney World guests would no doubt love the opportunity to see it on the east coast.
According to WDWNT, the parade is “all packed up” and ready to go. It could be Shanghai. Or Paris. Or the Magic Kingdom.
Oh, how I wish for the latter to be true, but…
Not So Fast!
Insiders on the WDW Magic forum are claiming that it’s definitely not coming to the Magic Kingdom.
So we’ll have to wait and see if this rumor materializes, and where the parade ultimately winds up.
Walt Disney World has a lot of new nighttime entertainment already…
As much as I want to see a new nighttime parade or the return of the Main Street Electrical Parade, I can completely understand if they hold off for awhile. With the recent premiere of Happily Ever After, Rivers of Light and all the other nighttime activities in Animal Kingdom and Pandora, I don’t know if Disney will be in any real hurry to add yet another “must see” nighttime event to the parks. Not just yet, anyway.
However, I do know that guests have been very vocal about the removal of the Main Street Electrical Parade (currently in Disneyland) so perhaps Disney will surprise us later this year?

No. No no no. Get your own. I’m so sick of watching Disneyland’s creations get stolen and sent to WDW.
Well others are sick of Disney Worlds stuff going to Disneyland it goes both ways and it’s all Disney. P.S. all of three rifes and parades are created by the same people! I know shocking they work together
