Disney has released a closer look at the menu of the upcoming Satu’li Canteen, a new restaurant focused on healthier cuisine with an “alien” touch.
Satu’li Canteen is the first Disney restaurant to use Mobile Order. It utilizes the My Disney Experience mobile app to allow guests to pre-order their food before arrival. Once inside the restaurant, guests tap the “I’m Here” button to let the chefs know it’s time to prepare the meal. This sounds like it will work similarly to the Be Our Guest restaurant in Magic Kingdom, and the technology will be utilized in more Disney restaurants in the future.
As for the menu itself, it looks tasty and exotic.
Guests can customize their own dishes from a base of quinoa or vegetable salad, sweet potato hash and more. Protein options include chicken, beef, fish and tofu. For a more alien touch, steamed “pods” will also be available. These are bao buns stuffed with vegetable curry or hamburger, and make a great choice for younger diners.
The theming of the restaurant will include many Na’vi relics and cooking utensils as part of the decor, and judging by the concept art, looks to be as immersive as the rest of Pandora.
Pandora – The World of Avatar opens on May 27, 2017.
