Hold the phone! Selena Gomez and David Henrie, who played siblings Justin and Alex Russo, recently took to Instagram to tease something they are working on together. Could a ‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ reboot be happening?

David Henrie posted this video of himself on Instagram saying “Hmm..” and then turning the camera to show Selena Gomez who also just simply says “Hmm”.

This may leave you thinking that they may be working on a film together, until old co-star Gregg Sulkin, who plays the character of Mason Greyback (Alex’s werewolf boyfriend), comments on the video writing “Hmmmm” in which Henrie replied with “hmm indeed Gregg. Hmmm indeed.”

Back in September of 2019, David Henrie actually discussed bringing back the extremely popular Disney Channel series with his co-star and close friend, Selena Gomez.

“We have a whole take. We have a whole thing,” Henrie stated in an interview with Entertainment Tonight. “We want to start the show like a few years later; start them off at the worst place ever so that way throughout the series you give them a nice, beautiful arch of reuniting. Start them out divided.”

“Alex is a fashionista, off killing it in some other part of the realm,” he continues. “Justin’s, like, the principal [of WizTech] who has a family now… [Jake T. Austin’s] Max has the sub shop, but it’s run down. Start us all completely discombobulated and then throughout the course of the series you bring us all together.”

This past December, David DeLuise (who played the father of the wizard family), also took to Instagram with the caption, ““You guys want a #reboot…Let’s do this!!”

‘Wizards of Waverly Place’ originally aired for four seasons between 2007 and 2012. The show even crossed over with other Disney Channel hit series such as ‘The Suite Life on Deck’ and ‘Hannah Montana’. The series was so popular, it even released a spinoff Disney Channel Original Movie in 2009 titled ‘Wizards of Waverly Place: The Movie.’ The series also aired an hour-long reunion special called ‘The Wizards Return: Alex vs. Alex’ in 2013.

With so many other old Disney shows getting reboots, such as ‘That’s So Raven,’ ‘The Proud Family,’ and possibly ‘Lizzie McGuire,’ we are hoping that this magical wizarding family makes a comeback!
