The opening dates for Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge have been announced today. The “Star Wars Land” expansion will open on May 31, 2019 in Disneyland in Anaheim, California and August 29, 2019 in Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida.
While Disneyland is on track with its predicted opening date, Walt Disney World’s opening date throws off early predictions. Originally it was expected that Star Wars would open in December, or maybe even January. Opening in August would allow for Disney to capitalize on revenue generated before the end of their fiscal year on September 30.
Of course, Disney is blasting all major media outlets with the news of Star Wars’ opening, likely in an attempt to boost what some are calling soft attendance this year, likely because many are waiting to see when Galaxy’s Edge will be open before booking a trip.
