Could the highly secretive title of Episode IX have been released accidentally by some code in the StarWars.com website?

That is a theory that is making the rounds on the internet this week. And if true the title of Star Wars Episode IX may be… Balance of the Force.

According to a user on reddit, the title screen was hidden in plain site all along — on the StarWars.com website, waiting to be unveiled at a specified time (Star Wars Celebration?)

Here’s the alleged code and image in question…

Now, nothing has been confirmed by Disney or Lucasfilm. And it’s completely possible that this is an elaborate hoax.

But it does look awfully official. And the title “Balance of the Force” has been rumored for years. In fact, it was originally supposed to the title of Episode III.

Given that Episode IX is supposed to bring closure to what is now being called the Skywalker Saga, and that the theme of the Prequels was a prophecy about bringing “balance to the force,” could they be revisiting the title?

It’s all possible, of course. But pure speculation since Disney has not made any official announcements.

If true, what do you think about Balance of the Force as being the title of the last Star Wars movie? Comment below!

I've loved Disney as long as I can remember. As a former newspaper editor, web developer, and Disney comics freelancer, I'm able to combine that experience into writing about Disney online. I'm also the co-host of a Disney fan podcast called 'Pirates & Princesses.' Opinions mine.
