Yes, The Last Jedi will share some similarities with Moana. Both films feature strong female characters who go on an epic quest with the aid of an overpowered recluse who’s been trapped on an island for far too long.
But how similar is too similar? That’s the premise of this hilarious YouTube parody song of Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Moana.

The parody came about from a piece of fan art that originated on Tumblr by user parhelics, who in turn was inspired by this post from charlesoberonn. It was then set to music by YouTuber OverEnglishMan.
