The Magic of Disney Balloons

Disney balloons have grown to be more and more of a highlight for everyone of all ages over the past few years while visiting the parks. The designs, of course, started very basic in 1955, and now they are more detailed with so many different designs. Now balloons are lighting up (these come out around evening time) and some are even a balloon within a ballon (aka Glasshouse balloons, if you didn’t know)! These have become a huge hit with kids and now they are even becoming popular amongst adults, especially social media influencers, for photo shoots and pictures.

Kind of amazing, right?! At Disneyland, balloons can be found throughout the park, but they are mainly found on Main Street, USA at Disneyland, and Buena Vista Street in Disney California Adventure. Over at Walt Disney World, Mickey Mouse “Glasshouse” balloons are exclusively sold at Disney theme parks (excluding Animal Kingdom Park, as they could be dangerous to the animals). From time to time, you can also find them at Disney Springs! While these balloons have a a high price tag (regular usually are about $12 and light-up ones are about $18!), they are quite sturdy and depending on how you take care of them, they can last between 3-6 weeks!

Did you also know that if your balloon pops, you can get a replacement? When you buy a balloon, keep your receipt because if it pops or deflates, you can bring it back to the balloon stand, show your receipt, and they will give you a replacement! If your balloon accidentally flies away, you can also bring your receipt to guest services at City Hall to get help.

If you’re interested in bringing your balloon home with you and you’re traveling, you can also deflate your balloon, so it does not become damaged, and you can pack it away. If you are flying out of Orlando International Airport (MCO), a Disney Store is located in the airport terminal. Before you go through security, simply stop by the Magic of Disney Store in the East Hall of the Main Terminal. The Cast Members there should be able to deflate your balloon for you before you board your flight. Once you return home, any party store should be able to help re-inflate your Mickey head balloon for you once you return home.
