Ok Insiders, this is very exciting news! Trader Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar has been shut down for over a year now due to the pandemic. Even though Disneyland, California Adventure, and most locations in Downtown Disney have reopened, Traders Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar has still remained closed along with the Disneyland Hotel. Trader Sam’s is by far my favorite tiki bar ever and I always loved going there for a bite to eat and a fun tropical drink. Now, Disney has recently announced the this amazing tiki bar will be reopening along with the Disneyland Hotel on July 2!
This enchanted bar is right outside the Disneyland Hotel and the ambience is what makes it so fantastically fun to visit. Surrounding the perimeter are tons of lit up tiki torches and tiki lights amongst palm trees. Inside is an intimate low-lit bar. There are no real windows inside, but the fake windows portray moving images with a nice ocean scene that make you feel like you are in Hawaii!
Here is the official description of this enchanted bar on Disneyland’s website:
Welcome, brave adventurers, to the wondrous watering hole of Trader Sam, head salesman of the Amazon. Sam is an expert at concocting head-shrinking potions and his travels far and wide allowed him to amass intoxicating ambrosial ingredients for his bubbly brews. Skip on over and try them for yourself—if you dare!
All around you are mementos of Sam’s exploits and trademark humor. You may very well laugh your head off!
Watch in wonder as the walls start to shake with volcanic eruptions all around you as you sip exotic elixirs of untold potency. You may not be able to shake the feeling that the tiki gods are watching you…
Traders Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar offers up a good selection of fun alcoholic beverages and some delicious food options.
Their food menu features an Angus 1/2 lb Hawaiian Cheeseburger, Tonkotsu Ramen, Panko-crusted Long Beans (these are amazing!), Tempura Shrimp, and so much more! The Pu Pu Platter is by far my personal favorite appetizer platter. It consists of Pork Gyoza, Panko-crusted Long Beans, Macaroni Salad, and Sweet-and-Spicy Chicken Wings served with Togarashi Aïoli. No matter what you decide, you can’t go wrong with anything on the menu!
You will have a hard time choosing something from the alcoholic beverages menu! There are so many fun drinks you will want to try them all. Fair warning: these drinks are a bit pricey and some of them are very strong! My personal go-to and favorite drink is the Mosquito Mojito which consists of Bacardi Dragon Berry Rum, Organic Agave Nectar, Falernum, Mint and fresh Lime Juice topped with Soda Water. Like I stated before their drinks can be a bit strong, but this one is very refreshing and not overly powerful. You may enjoy other drinks such as the Shrunken Zombie Head, HippopotoMai-Tai, Sea Monster’s Embrace, Shipwreck on the Rocks, and so many others. You can even purchase your very own tiki souvenir cup and they will serve your drink in it and you can make your own fun and tropical drinks at home!
There are so many things to try and Traders Sam’s Enchanted Tiki Bar has such great ambience you will want to return time and time again! If you’ve never been, I highly recommend that you take the time to visit next time you head to Disneyland Park and Hotel!
