Breaking news Insiders! After over a year of mandatory wear of face masks and coverings, Universal Orlando is one of the first theme parks to announce that they will no longer be requiring face masks for fully vaccinated visitors starting this Saturday, May 29! Whether you are indoor or outdoors, face masks are no longer required!

The update has been made on Universal Orlando’s website. They state this new and exciting change comes after the CDC recently announced that fully vaccinated persons do not need to wear a face mask anymore and can resume all previous activities they were doing before the pandemic! Universal Orlando is asking that if you are not vaccinated to continue to wear a mask for your own safety, however they will not be requiring proof of vaccination. Some safety measures remain in place, including social distancing and capacity limits.

SeaWorld Orlando was the first theme park to announce that they would no longer be requiring face masks for vaccinated visitors, but that they would not be requiring proof of vaccination either.

Disney World has yet to make an announcement about removing their face mask requirement, but we expect that we could hear them make the announcement any day now as they had previously announced that face masks were no longer required outdoors shortly after Universal Orlando did! It looks like things may be more back to normal than we could have imagined by this summer at the Orlando theme parks!

Face masks are still required at the California theme parks, as Orange County, California remains in the yellow tier. Orange County is expected to fully reopen June 15, so we could also be hearing an announcement over the next few weeks about Universal Hollywood or Disneyland relaxing their face mask policies as well.

We will continue to report on this as both Universal and Disney make more announcements!

Are you excited about face masks no longer be required at Universal Orlando?!
