Last year 4th of July was a bit depressing due to the fact that we couldn’t celebrate due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now that things seem to be getting back to normal, theme parks gave their Guests a 4th of July firework show they will never forget! While firework shows are normally pretty impressive, this years 4th of July shows were off the charts amazing!
Magic Kingdom brought back their fireworks July 1 and they had their special 4th of July firework show yesterday evening. Disneyland also brought back their first official firework show last night as things continue to get back to normal and they did not hold back! Their show saluted the stars and stripes like never before while celebrating Independence Day along to the sound of patriotic music. making it an extremely emotional moment for many. The show started at 9:30pm last night and brightened the Orange County skies with magical and beautiful lights. Main Street U.S.A was even lit up by amazing projections of stars and stripes from the American Flag. What a way to bring the full magic of Disney back to Guests!

Even if you couldn’t be at Disneyland to enjoy the show, Orange County locals could both see and hear the fireworks from afar and were absolutely delighted after being a year without Disney’s epic light show.
Universal Studios Hollywood also brought back their annual 4th of July firework show last night in Hollywood, California. The park celebrated Independence Day with their annual salute to the stars and stripes, featuring a spectacular firework show. The park was decked out in holiday décor and they dazzled Guests with a display of fireworks synchronized to Universal themed music and patriotic favorites. Universal also did a spectacular job with giving their Guests an amazingly epic show that provided a sense of celebration and relief with Los Angeles finally being able to gain a sense of normalcy back after what a hard year it has been.

Along with the rest of the country, California faced many hardships over the past year due to the pandemic and the state was one of the last ones to return to a sense of normalcy. 4th of July was the perfect time for the California theme parks to resume their special firework shows that Guests of all ages could previously enjoy night after night pre-COVID times. We’d like to give a huge thank you to the Parks for giving their Guests an extra special night of magic during a special time of celebration!
