Orlando Sentinel reported a 53-year-old woman from Davenport, FL was fired from her job at Magic Kingdom in May 2019.
According to sheriff’s incident report, the woman stole $33,988 from the WDW company. The damage was done between January 2017 through May 2019 while working in the ticket booth at the Magic Kingdom’s Transportation and Ticket Center.
Disney investigators pretended to be guests picking up their tickets and MagicBands on two separate instances in the spring and caught the woman. During their undercover investigations, they paid with cash and not given a receipt. Cast Member then placed the cash to the side.
In the end, she did not receive a felony charge or jail time. Instead the woman was charged with 2 misdemeanors. She pleaded “no contest” in October to petit theft, then placed on probation for 12 months. Along with this, her sentence requires she pay a fine of $273. She is also required to attend community service and a seminar on impulse control.
