‘WandaVision’ Spinoff Starring Kathryn Hanh in Development at Disney+!

Source: Variety

Christmas has come early Insiders because one of my personal favorite Marvel series is getting a spinoff series! Variety has exclusively announced that “WandaVision’s” Agatha Harkness is getting her own spinoff series and is currently in development at Disney Plus!

“WandaVision” aired on Disney+ earlier this year from January to March and although fans questioned the series at first (it does start off rather strange), it quickly became a huge hit worldwide. The show ended up with 23 Emmy nominations, including one for Hahn for best supporting actress in a limited series. A big, and not a surprising win, was when it recently won best original music and lyrics category for the song “Agatha All Along,” which was used as part of the reveal that Hahn’s character was not who she appeared to be. She became such a fan-favorite that her villain was added to Oogie Boogie Bash this year. I personally got to see Agatha at Avengers Campus at this years Halloween event at Disney’s California Adventure and she was the perfect villain to add. She is very witty and mischievous and fans just adore her, so this news is very exciting as it means this newer villains story is not over.

Plot details remain unknown at this time, but “WandaVision” head writer Jac Schaeffer would serve as the writer and executive producer on the project with Kathryn Hanh of course returning as Agatha. In “WandaVision,” Hahn started out playing the role of Agnes, Wanda and Vision’s nosy neighbor. By the end of the series it was revealed she was actually Agatha, a powerful witch. In the Marvel comics and the series, Agatha is shown to have survived the Salem Witch Trials and is more than a match for Wanda, a.k.a. Scarlet Witch. When viewers last saw her in the finale of “WandaVision,” Wanda traps Agatha in Westview by using her powers to force her revert to her Agnes persona. It will be really interesting to find out if this spinoff series will be a prequel or sequel!

How excited are you for the “WandaVision” spinoff starring Kathryn Hahn?!
