Calling all Potterheads! Something new and exciting is coming…to Tokyo! It will be the second attraction of its kind in the world (after the London Studio Tour) and will offer a brand-new entertainment experience for Tokyo! Construction has officially started on the Warner Bros. Studio Tour Tokyo – The Making of Harry Potter which is planned for the site of the now closed Toshimaen amusement park in Western Tokyo. The grand opening for this 30,000 square meter park is set for the first half of 2023.
According to Variety, “The attraction, which the Studio Tour Tokyo site is careful to describe as a ‘walking tour’ and ‘not a theme park,’ will feature a replica sound stage and backlot outdoor area from the ‘Harry Potter’ and ‘Fantastic Beasts’ film series. The intent is to give visitors a behind-the-scenes look at the making of the films. It will be similar to Warner Bros. Studio Tour London, which opened in 2012 and pre-pandemic was welcoming up to 6,000 visitors a day.’ ”
This sounds even better than a theme park in a way, especially if it’s like the Studio Tour in London! This will be a great international experience and Guests from all over are sure to flock to this new Tokyo attraction as it will display original sets, props and costumes from the movies, creating a truly immersive experience.

“Warner Bros. has been telling stories for almost 100 years, and Harry Potter is among our most popular and beloved,” Ann Sarnoff, chairwoman and CEO of Warner Bros., said in a statement sent to Insider.
She promises the theme park will give “fans of all ages a unique way to get closer to the films and truly immerse themselves in the Wizarding World” and that Warner Bros. is “looking forward to creating something very special” for Potterheads in Japan.
