Will the beloved Main Street Electrical Parade ever return to Walt Disney World?
As of right now, the answer seems to be that Disney is waiting until the 50th anniversary of Walt Disney World in 2021 to bring back an electrical parade to the Magic Kingdom.
We’ve been hearing this rumor for quite some time, and it certainly does make sense to hold off for a BIG event to mark the return of such a crowd-pleaser.
The Main Street Electrical Parade last appeared in the Magic Kingdom in October of 2016. From there it was shipped back to Disneyland, where it ran until August 20, 2017.
Is the Main Street Electrical Parade Retired for Good?
If the parade returns for the 50th, I think we can expect something that’s been greatly updated from the original or an entirely new electrical parade. The Main Street Electrical Parade is a classic, but it is aging and other Disney nighttime parades definitely outshine it (no pun intended.)
But you can still catch the Paint the Night Parade in Disneyland!
But there’s good news for fans of the Main Street Electrical Parade. Its successor, the Paint the Night Parade, returns to Disney’s California Adventure this week! It will feature a new float based on The Incredibles, and is helping to usher in the Pixar re-theming of Paradise Pier.
Stay tuned to The Kingdom Insider for more information on upcoming new nighttime entertainment in the Disney Parks.

Looking forward to one of my favorite attractions, Main Street Electrical Parade.
Thank-you
