Hey Insiders! We know there are hundreds of articles out there about how to save money or find a great deal when it comes to planning your Walt Disney World vacation. While these are super important (we post them ourselves!) we thought it might be fun to share a few things you can enjoy while on vacation that are totally FREE to guests at Disney World! Make a note on your phone so you don’t forget these fun little hacks only a frequent flyer at Disney would know about! Let’s go!
Special Occasion Buttons. Celebrating ANYTHING? You can grab a birthday, anniversary, first visit, honeymoon, etc button for free at the front desk of your resort OR at any guest relations counter at the front of the parks! They even have an “I’m Celebrating…” button for you to write in literally anything! New Job, Girls Trip, you name it!
Ride the Skyliner. While used as a mode of transportation from certain resorts to EPCOT and Hollywood Studios, anyone is able to ride! No matter where you’re staying, you can ride the Disney Skyliner all around property! It’s a beautiful ride and a fun way to resort-hop and check out other hotels! You can hop off at Caribbean Beach Resort and grab a coffee from the Joffrey’s stand (not free) and then hop back on and keep riding! It’s like a free attraction!
Visit the Savanna at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge. You don’t have to visit Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park to see the animals up close! Resort hop on over to the Animal Kingdom Lodge and walk around the pathways outside around the Savanna; you’ll get to see Giraffes, Zebras, and other African animals!
Visit the horses at Tri-Circle D Ranch. Mosey on over to Fort Wilderness and visit the horses that live on the ranch! While visiting and exploring the ranch are totally free, you can pay to horseback ride or cruise around the resort in style via horse-drawn carriage!
Stroll around Disney’s Boardwalk. Take in the beautiful sights of the boardwalk, enjoy a ride around the lake on the Friendship boats, or groove the night away at the Dance Hall! Surrey bikes are available for rental; there are also several places to eat, grab a slice of pizza, and of course, an ice cream cone!
Watch Movies Under the Stars at your Disney Resort. Every Disney Resort has movies under the stars on a huge, inflatable movie screen each night! Typically this takes place near the recreational areas in the grass! Bring a beach towel and snacks for the perfect, most relaxing way to end your Disney day! Watch the Fireworks. You don’t have to be inside the parks to enjoy the nighttime spectaculars! You can see the Magic Kingdom Fireworks from the beach at Disney’s Polynesian Resort, the rooftop of Disney’s Contemporary Resort, and the waterfront at the Grand Floridian! EPCOTS fireworks can be seen from Disney’s Boardwalk Resort! Check the My Disney Experience app for times.
See the Electrical Water Pageant. Whimsical sea creatures sail across Seven Seas Lagoon near the Magic Kingdom to classic Disney tunes during this floating nighttime parade. Watch the Pageant from viewing spots along the shore at these locations: Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort, Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa (including Narcoossee’s), Disney’s Wilderness Lodge, Disney’s Fort Wilderness Resort and Campground, and Disney’s Contemporary Resort. Learn to Draw Animations. Located in the Conservation Station in Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, guests will discover the influence of real-life animals as they create their own sketch of a beloved Disney character. Let your creativity shine as a talented Disney animator gives you step-by-step instructions on how to illustrate your own version of a popular Disney character. Each 25-minute class will offer something different. Featured Characters change periodically, so you can keep adding to your art collection! Check the My Disney Experience app for times.
Sip surprising Sodas at Club Cool. Located inside EPCOT, stop by the “Coke” tail bar—featuring Coca-Cola products from around the world—and shop for some cool souvenirs. (all drink samples are free!)
