“Monorail Resort Guests at the Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian along with Guests entering at the Ticket and Transportation Center are checked checked by security prior to getting on the monorail. Bags are checked and you also go through a metal detector. Once arriving at Magic Kingdom guests will go down the Monorail Ramp and enter the park by using their MagicBands. All other Resort guests will be checked through Security at the park.
We did figure out one glitch that a Disney Rep said they are working to fix…we went to Epcot from the Contemporary and we had to go through security twice…once at the resort and again at the park. I would think that they should be able to put up some barriers off the Monorail ramp to keep those guests going a certain way to bypass the security stop again but have not come up with a solution for this issue.
I will say it was really nice…there was never anyone waiting to get checked at the resort…it was really quick and great to be able to stay together as a group and enter the park vs having one person with a bag having to stop and get searched.”
Below are some pictures our tipster snapped of the new checkpoints.

My husband, daughter and I experienced the new security checkpoint arrangement at Magic Kingdom today. What a great system! When we arrived at the Transportation and Ticket Center from the parking lot, we went through bag check and security, boarded the ferry boat and we were on our way! Once we got off the ferry it was so nice to be able to just get into the park without having to battle the overcrowded and long security lines at the gate. Having separate checkpoints for the monorails, boats, buses and the walking path from the Contemporary really evens everything out, so everyone isn’t bogged down in one location.
Glad to hear they are implementing more so there is not a bottleneck
