More exciting news from Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California today! Disneyland has made the official announcement that they will be ending on site temperate screenings starting June 15 (the date California can fully reopen) for both Guests and Cast Members!
The Disneyland website has the following statement regarding temperature screenings:
Disneyland Resort to End Onsite Temperature Screenings As of June 15, 2021
Since reopening, we have considered guidance from public health authorities, government agencies, and our own team of health and safety experts as we assess and update health and safety measures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.
Based on the advice of the CDC and our local health officials, and given Orange County is now in the Yellow Tier and the State of California is preparing to reopen the economy on June 15—the Disneyland Resort will end onsite temperature screenings for Guests and Cast Members starting June 15, 2021.
We will continue to monitor the guidance of public health authorities and government agencies going forward and will make appropriate adjustments in the future based on that guidance.
This is a great step now that Orange County is in the yellow tier! Per the LA Times, “California officials have stated that come June 15, Californians will wake up to a world that looks nothing like the past year-plus — one where businesses can open their doors without COVID-19 constraints on capacity or requirements for physical distancing, and where people who are fully vaccinated no longer need to wear masks in most situations.”
“Gov. Gavin Newsom foreshadowed the announcement Thursday, telling reporters that, with the new guidance, “people can really paint that future and see themselves in it: Post-masks and post-any modification in this blueprint,” referring to the system of color-coded tiers that has guided reopenings statewide for the past nine months.”
June 15 is also the date that face masks are no longer required if you are vaccinated. Disneyland still has made no announcement on if they will be removing their face mask policy at that time, but as of right now they are only removing temperature screenings. Disneyland could soon announce the removal of masks, at least outdoors, soon as well. We will report more on this as Disneyland officials make announcements!
