If you’re traveling to Walt Disney World Resort for the first time since the discontinuation of Disney’s Magical Express Service, it’s likely that you’re not sure of the best option to pick for your family’s transportation. While there may be a number of ways to get to your Disney resort from Orlando International Airport, our team only uses one that we have found to be the best; Mears Connect. The Mears Connect service is a shared ride shuttle service that stops at 3-4 Disney Resorts; if you liked the experience of the former Magical Express service, then this is for you. Mears does offer private transportation options, which are listed on their site, but they will be a bit more expensive than the flat rate of the Mears Connect service. Let’s walk through how it works!
First, you’ll want to go to the Mears Connect website select Standard Service and click next! From here you’ll fill in all of your travel information including resort location, flight numbers, bags, and arrival & departure times.

Mears Connect pricing is flat rated, at $32 roundtrip per adult, and $27 roundtrip per child. (Children under the age of 3 ride free.) After reserving your shuttle, you will receive two email confirmations: one for each leg of your trip. These emails will contain your QR codes for scanning when you check in for your shuttle BUT, you likely won’t need them! Mears has literally thought of everything! Imagine you and your family lugging suitcases through the airport and you scrolling through your inbox trying to find those emails again… you don’t have to! As soon as your plane lands, Mears will text you with a link to your QR code! They truly could not have made it easier!

After you collect your luggage from baggage claim you will proceed over to level one on the other side of the airport. (To do this you must go back up to level 3, walk across to side B, and go back down to level 1. If you are familiar with where the Magical Express was, it’s the exact same location.) Here you will be greeted by the Mears team, scan your QR code, and join the line that is headed to your Disney resort. Our team has used Mears Connect many times and has never waited more than 5-10 minutes to be boarded onto our shuttle, and on our way shortly after. Your shuttle may stop at 2-4 Disney resorts in total, so it is possible to wait through a few stops before arriving at your resort; our driver has always let us know where we will be stopping once everyone is boarded!

Take note of the round sign on a post that says “Airport Transportation/Shuttle” right outside the lobby of your resort; this will make finding your shuttle home that much easier! If you can’t seem to locate it, ask a Cast Member where the shuttle usually picks up! Mears will email you in advance with your pickup time, so you can squeeze every last second out of the last day of your trip! When your pickup time is approaching, you will receive a text message from Mears Connect, with a link to your QR code AND a link to track your driver LIVE! How cool is that? Board your shuttle bound for Orlando International Airport, and arrive in plenty of time before your flight!
We know you take our recommendations very seriously, after all, we do fly in and out of Orlando International Airport at least once a month! Our team always chooses Mears Connect for 2 simple reasons: it’s incredibly easy to book, and we know we can rely on them to get us where we need to be, on time. Planning a trip to Walt Disney World can be very stressful, getting there doesn’t have to be! Let our friends at Mears Connect take care of it!
