Packing for a vacation can be overwhelming, and if you’re anything like me, you’re constantly worrying about what you’re going to forget and leave behind (you don’t know how many times I scream in frustration that I forgot something when I’m on my way to the airport or the plane!). Making a checklist of items I need to bring on my trip well ahead of time has been extremely helpful. For a Disney cruise, it’s essential to bring everything that is important, so we have made a simple little checklist to help ensure you bring everything you need to sail off on your adventure!
**It’s important to note that your luggage will be taken from you upon arrival at the cruise port. You will want to pack any essential items you need for the first few hours on the ship in another bag, such as a backpack or a smaller purse/bag!
- Passport and/or required citizenship documentation
- Luggage tags (Disney Cruise Line sends these to you a few weeks before your trip!)
- Medication (in their original containers)
- Camera and accessories (batteries, memory card, etc.)
- Phone and laptop chargers
- Makeup/makeup remover/face wash
- Toiletries
- Extra prescription glasses or contact lenses
- Sunscreen and hats
- Swimsuit and cover-up
- Dinner attire
- Sunglasses
- Shorts and tanks/t-shirts/summer dresses
- Sandals and sneakers (rubber-sole shoes for Port Adventures)
If you’re headed out on a cruise to colder destinations, you may want to also pack:
- Winter wear: gloves, hat, coat, boots, sweatshirt, etc.
- Waterproof and windproof coat
- Sunglasses
- Pants or jeans
- Sturdy footwear (boots or rubber-sole shoes)
- Umbrella or poncho
- Jeans or pants
- Windbreaker/rain jacket
- Sweater or other clothes you can layer
Before you head out for your cruise, be sure to print out your boarding pass that is provided after check-in on the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app; you will want to keep this form (along with your passport/proof of citizenship) in your other smaller bag that you are carrying onto the ship, as it will be needed after dropping your checked bags and heading to board. Your checked bags will conveniently be taken to your room later in the afternoon.
Although heading out on vacation can sometimes be overwhelming, Disney Cruise Line makes it seamless and easy. If you have your packing checklist, documents, and the Disney Cruise Line Navigator app downloaded, getting onto the ship will be a breeze!
