It’s safe to say when it comes to Disney, we have been there, done that! That’s exactly why we’re here, to make sure you get the absolute most out of your trip! We see lots of folks make some mistakes that could easily be avoided & considerably enhance their experience while on vacation. Here are a few we think you should know about…
Forgetting to schedule a rest day in between park days. It is so unbelievably important to schedule a day off from walking the parks and rest up! This will give you the opportunity to enjoy your resort, relax at the pool, and have a nice meal at Disney Springs! Believe me, the second half of your trip will be much more enjoyable, and your feet will thank you. Make sure you pack tennis shoes or the MOST comfortable shoes you have!
Waiting until you arrive to learn how to use the My Disney Experience App. It takes some time to get the hang of using the Genie+ system, Virtual Queues, and everything else you can do within the MDE app! From unlocking your resort room door to mobile ordering food and mobile check out while shopping! Download the app ahead of time, make sure your reservation is linked in full (resort AND park tickets), and toggle over to “Future Plans” to ensure everything you have booked is there! (including dining reservations!)
Research transportation & have a plan to conquer your itinerary. First & foremost you need to know how you’re getting to the parks each day from your resort. Some resorts have buses, some have a combination of buses, monorails, the skyliner, boats, etc. A big problem we see guests experience is frustration over how to get to a dining reservation that is NOT at a park. For instance: A guest staying at Coronado Springs may book a character breakfast at Cape May Cafe, located in Disney’s Beach Club Resort. How will they get there? A quick stop at the front desk upon check-in can answer all of these questions! Do NOT wait until the morning off to find out that you have to take the bus from Coronado Springs to Hollywood Studios, and then transfer to the Friendship boats to get the Beach Club. Odds are you didn’t budget enough time, and now you’re going to be late or miss your reservation (that you booked at 5:00 a.m.) altogether. If you use an Academy Travel agent, they would also advise you to book this on either an Epcot or Hollywood Studios park day to save time, since both are so accessible from the Beach Club!
