Bob Iger, CEO of The Walt Disney Company, participated in a question and answer session today, Tuesday, March 5, 2024, at the Morgan Stanley Technology, Media, and Telecom Conference. In the Q&A, Iger mentioned plans to add an “Avatar” land at Disneyland Resort in California!
“We have one Avatar-based land, Pandora, in Florida. We’re going to put a second one in in California [at Disneyland]. That doesn’t mean we can’t put one somewhere in Asia and somewhere in Europe, for instance.”
Only an “experience” had been mentioned before, so now that an actual land is being announced, it is very exciting! Back in March of 2023, a D23 post said that the new experience would be “as amazing” as the one in Disney’s Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Iger did not mention whether the land would be built at Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park; he also did not specify what kinds of attractions to expect within the new land or when we can expect it to open.
