Good news for those saddened by the news that Rafiki’s Planet Watch at Disney’s Animal Kingdom was closing.
Disney has confirmed that it will close on October 20th, but it will be re-opening in Spring 2019 after a refurbishment.
According to the Orlando Sentinel:
The animal-care team, Disney says, was never in danger of being dismantled. But theme-park visitors would have no longer seen medical procedures and other techniques performed on animals at Planet Watch.
It is strange that they confirmed it to be a permanent closure and then recanted to a refurbishment, but fans of the area can now rejoice. It’s coming back.
We will update you with more information as it becomes available.
