Hey, Insiders! We stayed at the first Value resort that is new to Universal Orlando as of 2019 (Surfside) and 2020 (Dockside) and make a total of eight hotels on property. These sister hotels located across the street from one another are known for being affordable, but don’t lack in theming, location or amenities and are a part of the Endless Summer Resort.
Resort Name: Universal’s Endless Summer Resort – Surfside Inn and Suites & Dockside Inn and Suites
Overview:
Surfside Inn & Suites – “This fun, family-oriented Value hotel introduces extra affordability to your Universal vacation. The feeling here is relaxed and easy, with a cool surf vibe woven throughout. In addition to beachy, surf-themed standard rooms, Surfside Inn and Suites features spacious, 2-bedroom suites that sleep up to six, making it the perfect spot for families of any size to experience a Universal Orlando Resort vacation.” – Universal Orlando
Dockside Inn & Suites – “Unwind in an escape that’s extra-affordable. Inspired by sand, sea and breathtaking sunsets, this retreat has a coastal vibe and comes with all the fun and convenience of staying with Universal—including awesome theme park benefits. With plenty of standard rooms and spacious, two-bedroom suites that sleep six, it’s a great spot for families of any size to base their Universal vacation.” – Universal Orlando

Our favorite “extra” from this resort is the 2 – Bedroom Suite options for not only the space, but also the price. Up to six guests can be in one room, so it’s perfect for larger families or groups of friends. You can also enjoy The Wizarding World of Harry Potter up to an hour before park open.
TKI Takeaways:
- We enjoyed our stay at Surfside over Dockside. It was more intimate, relaxing and had a boutique feel. The consistent surfing theming everywhere was great, and the Sand Bar is the perfect addition to the surf shaped pool.
- Dockside has better food options since it’s bigger. With two pools, there are two pool bars and the main quick service at Pier 8 has a ton of options to please everyone in your party.
- If you are a guest at one of the hotels, you can enjoy all of the amenities at the other since they are a part of Endless Summer Resort, so truthfully you can’t make the wrong choice when you decide where to stay.
