We’ve almost reached the end of our 35 articles for Epcot’s 35th Anniversary. Today we are going to talk about the Candlelight Processional.
The Candlelight Processional occurs during the holiday season at Epcot, in the American Gardens Theater. This theater is located in the middle of the World Showcase by the American Adventure. The show is an homage to the show first performed in Disneyland in 1958 and then added at the Magic Kingdom in 1971. In 1994 it was moved to the America Gardens Theater.
What is the Candlelight Processional?
The Candlelight Processional is a show that includes a choir and a 50 piece orchestra playing traditional holiday songs, while celebrity guests retell the Biblical story of Christmas.
The show is performed three times a night at 5 p.m., 6:45 p.m., and 8:15 p.m. There are dinner packages offered as well. Lunch and Dinner were offered in previous years, and this year they’ve added breakfast for Akershus and The Garden Grill. If you dine at one of the participating restaurants, with a “dinner package” you can get special seating for the event.
Over the years many celebrities have participated. Guests such as: John Stamos, Corbin Bleu, Haley Joel Osment, Susan Lucci, Jim Caviezel, Whoopi Goldberg, Neil Patrick Harris, Robby Benson, Ming-Na Wen, and more.

- Dec. 6-14 – To Be Announced
- Dec. 15-17 – Trace Adkins
- Dec. 18-21 – Neil Patrick Harris
- Dec. 22-24 – CCH Pounder
- Dec. 25-27 – Jaci Velasquez
- Dec. 28-30 – To Be Announced
During the holiday season guests can also participate in Holidays Around the World with special holiday food, entertainment, and merchandise. There are traditional holiday performances around the World Showcase during the day.
