Justin Simien, who previously helmed ‘Dear White People’ and ‘Bad Hair’, is making his big-budget studio debut, which began production last week in New Orleans and Atlanta. It also seems that we now have some plot details (very exciting!) for this new film! Per The Hollywood Reporter:
The details of the story and script by Katie Dippold are being kept deep in the bayou. The film follows a mother and her son who come across a mansion that is more than it seems while being orbited by various characters key to undressing the spooky mystery.
DeVito will play a smug professor.
DeVito is no stranger to Disney as he voiced Phil in “Hercules” and played the part of Max Medici in the 2019 live-action “Dumbo”. Although you most likely need no reminder on DeVito’s past film history, his filmography includes movies such as ‘Romancing the Stone’ and ‘Batman Returns’ and he has been appearing in long-running comedy ‘It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia’ for over the last 15 years.
Although many details regarding this film are still very hush, hush we are so excited that this new movie has already started production and filming. With who has been casted so far we are sure the movie based on one of our favorite Disney park attractions will haunt us for a lifetime!
