It’s no secret that big changes are coming to Walt Disney World’s Epcot soon. With the recently announced entrance refurbishment, it’s clear that Epcot is soon going to more closely resemble the “blue sky” concept art that debuted at D23 in 2017.
Now more big changes are underway. According to WDWNT, demolition permits have been filed that will spell the end for Innoventions West.
The first permits for the project have been filed, likely coinciding with the imminent closure of Innoventions West and the overhaul of the park’s entry plaza. The permits refer to a “Project G”, which is short for Project Gamma. The permits also cite Innoventions East in name, but that is likely based on the close proximity of all of these structures and such.
This would require that new homes be found for the Epcot Character Spot, Club Cool and the article goes on to speculate that Starbucks may be moved to the recently refurbished Epcot Experience Center, aka The Odyssey.
Character meet and greets are expected to move to ImageWorks, where the Wreck-It Ralph meet and greet is currently.
