You may have recently heard that Disney World has made some changes in regard to their health and safety guides, including removing temperature checks. Now, it looks like the face mask policy is changing for certain Cast Members at the park as well!
Cast Members have been required to wear a face shield as well as a mask if their job required them to be closer than 6 ft from Guests. Now with guidelines getting more relaxed, some of those Cast Members are able to wear just the face covering without the shield!
Reporter Scott Gustin at Tribune Broadcasting posted the following tweets just a few days ago:
The change does not apply to CMs working in food/beverage or any other location where guests are not wearing masks.
It also does not apply to indoor roles where face shields/glasses are worn or when a CM outdoors is within 3 feet of another CM or a guest for 15+ mins.

It is important to note that face coverings are still required for all Cast Members and Guests. Guests are allowed to remove their face coverings if they are actively eating or drinking, or taking an outdoor photo. Universal Orlando recently announced that they are bringing the social distancing rule down to 3 ft instead of 6ft, but Disney is still maintaining the 6ft apart rule. While the Florida Governor recently announced he is removing all COVID-19 emergency orders, Disney is still sticking to most of their safety and health measures.
